I am sure that many of you red-blooded foot guys out there have seen the commercials featuring one of America’s favourite witches Alyssa Milano rolling around on a couch, showing off her shapely legs for the latest product in leg hair removal: Veet. But have you noticed a slight difference with regards to the most recent commercials currently airing? If you said no then check your pulse and check out this link of the original commercial:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sYjPj4m8B2Y
For those of you who nodded “yes” then you already have noticed the disturbing fact that Alyssa’s cute
toes and smooth soles have been covered by…argh! Shoes! Not to mention gaudy, closed toe silvery looking aberrations!
What has this world come to when the exact same company that sells millions of dollars of foot care products can’t even show how those items work well to remove dry skin while you shave your beautiful legs with Veet?!?!
The reaction from foot guys worldwide to the original commercial was nothing short of tremendous approval for the commercial (you remember, the one where we actually get to see glimpses of Alyssa’s gorgeous peds?) so why the sudden turn to covering those beauties with ugh…shoes?
Did darling Alyssa have a pedicure go wrong? Was there a blister that couldn’t be covered up with base? Did her middle toe suddenly sprout forth like Pinocchio’s nose at a police interrogation?
I urge all of you foot guys out there (now including the ones that didn’t notice the difference….pity….) to please forward your displeasure to the responsible parties namely Reckitt Benckiser Inc., the company that makes Veet.
I’ve also made it easier for you one-clickers to find out where to complain, just click on this link:
http://www.veet.us/contact_form2.shtml
This is the complaints department. I am not too sure if it will work but what’s the harm in trying?
Now I am also well aware of the fact that these commercials aren’t supposed to be geared towards the foot aficionado but don’t smooth legs and silky soles kind of go hand in hand?
